Memorial Day Weekend '09

My sisters, Ashley and Lindsay, with us

This past weekend, we visited my dad in Mullins, SC which is only about an hour from the beach so we were able to at least see the ocean (we didn't stay too long though because it was biker weekend) and ride some roller coasters at a small amusement park in Myrtle Beach. We hadn't been on a roller coaster in about 3 years (or more) so that was a lot of fun for us! :)

Clemson vs. Maryland Baseball Game

This past Saturday, Aaron & I met up with my mom, step-dad, sister, and sis' boyfriend in Clemson, SC for a baseball game - Clemson vs. Maryland. This is all so ironic considering that Aaron grew up in Columbia, graduated from USC, and is most definitely a Gamecock fan!!! My family are Tiger fans though, and so he mustered up some strength sit through the game (He enjoyed it too). :)

Country Park

The weather was absolutely amazing this weekend so we went to a local park for our first time in Greensboro. Most of the dogs there were both excited and intrigued by the geese, but Toby was more interested in people watching - he's so domesticated that he probably doesn't realize he's an animal himself! Haha :)

Visit to Atlanta

Last Friday, Aaron, Toby, and I left Greensboro and headed to Atlanta to visit my family for several days. I hadn't seen them since early August which had been the longest time I had ever gone without seeing them! The trip was much needed because I miss them all VERY MUCH! We ate a lot of unhealthy foods, went to the mall, and ate more unhealthy foods - It was all so fun! Mom gave me my late Christmas and Birthday gift which was a LOT of make-up from Bare Escentuals (Bare Minerals make-up) where she works part-time and I also stocked up on flavors of Diet Rite that I can't find anywhere around here. It has been so sad being back in Greensboro again and away from our loved ones, but I keep reminding myself that God sovereignly chooses where to place His children in different seasons of their lives and I'm so thankful that Aaron has a job (which is why we're here now) with the rough economy right now!

Valentine's Day/Birthday

Aaron and me playing Pictionary...

Opening my birthday gifts with my friend, Melissa...

Our couple picture...

We celebrated Valentine's Day/my birthday with some friends from our new church. It was us and two other couples...the guys cooked a delicious meal for us girls, we played Pictionary, and I received some birthday gifts from friends (one was the Laura Story "Great God Who Saves" album which is such a great cd!) and cupcakes.
Aaron has ordered me a "Snuggie" which is on its way. The biggest present though is our new living room furniture which is also on its way - I'll post pictures as soon as it has been delivered! We're really excited about the new furniture!

Date at Longhorn Steakhouse

To celebrate our anniversary, we went to Longhorn Steakhouse last Friday night. We both enjoyed salad, bread, filet mignons, and a baked potato (we even topped the night off with their Chocolate Stampede - a truly amazing dessert, but it was big enough for 4-5 people so, sadly we couldn't quite finish it all). Our kind waitress took our picture and turns out, she's trying to get into photography, so she was happy to take it.

Tonight, we leave Greensboro and head to Columbia for Christmas festivities - We're so excited to see our our family and go back to what will always be our "home."

Have a Merry Christmas as you enjoy family, friends, and food as we celebrate the greatest gift of all - God becoming man to save us from our sins!

Date Day

Yesterday, Aaron was off of work and I always have Friday afternoons off, so we had a "Date Day" and did two really exciting things (three if you count Chick-Fil-A).

The first was that we voted early for the upcoming election. The lines were very long, but it was worth the wait. Now, Aaron can free up his staff from the store so that they can vote on November 4th. Plus, it's nice just to know that you've cast your ballot in case some emergency were to come up around election day which would prevent you from being able to vote (ie. you got sick and ended up in the hospital - Not likely but it could happen).

After voting, we went to see the new movie Fireproof starring Kirk Cameron. It was a wonderful movie. This was Aaron's second time seeing it, because he was able to see a pre-showing at a LifeWay manager's conference last month. He told me that it was the best movie he had ever seen and that I had to go see it with him again. I'm glad that I did because I would agree with Aaron. I am also very encouraged by Kirk Cameron's commitment to Jesus Christ. I had the privilege to hear him speak last year at one of his The Way of the Master events - He's the real deal. And, there is a kiss in the movie in which he is actually kissing his real-life wife, Chelsea. They did a silhouette scene so that you couldn't tell it wasn't the same girl. Kirk has an open commitment to only kiss his wife while filming- How awesome is that?! If you haven't seen Fireproof yet, I'd encourage you to do so - And do it before it's released on DVD. Show Hollywood and movie theaters that we want and will support clean, God-honoring movies!

The Wilsons Get Cable (finally!)

We have thoroughly enjoyed having cable the past couple of weeks! Aaron has been able to watch several football games with no static. I have been able to watch all kinds of fun shows on TLC such as "A Baby Story" & "Bringing Baby Home" and other girly shows.

Even though the Carolina Gamecock's lost to the Georgia Bulldogs 14-7 today, Aaron and Toby still enjoyed cheering them on. :)
