Yesterday we had a scheduled appointment with our OB where Jennifer turned out some very high blood pressure results. A combination of that, a lot of swelling and the presence of protein in her urine was enough for the midwife who was seeing her to admit her to the hospital. After being their for 24 hours, it was determined that she has severe preeclampsia. We were told that 300mg of protein is an indicator of preeclampsia. Jenn had over 6000mg.
She is being monitored closely and we have been told that the babies will probably be delivered very soon - we are thinking by the end of this week. She was given a steroid injection today to bolster the babies' lung development in preparation for premature birth. We were told that the babies can be induced after 48 hours of that injection. She's also being hooked up to an IV and made to lay on her side permanently.
Abel and Belle continue to look great. They we be at 31 weeks tomorrow and will most likely be in the NICU for around a month. They did give us a quick tour of the NICU tonight and it is very nice. This particular hospital has separate rooms for each baby, or a double room for two babies in our case along with a recliner or pull out bed. This makes it very quiet and private. The doctors also said that because of the position of the babies, Jenn may be able to deliver vaginally and avoid a Cesarean section.
I'll try to sneak another update in as things progress and as I have time.

Praying for a safe delivery, healthy babies, and a swift recovery!
your babies are going to come before my little girl! ha ha! jennifer may as well have had her transfer in september! in all seriousness, i trust that God has His hands all over this situation. and I pray for extra loving protection during these next few days. please keep updating!
Praying for all four of you!!! If there is anything we can do, let us know!
We are praying for all of you!
Wow! Praying that all goes well. My sister gave birth to her twins at 27 weeks in an emergency c-section. She could only be on steroids for a night. They were sooo tiny and spent a few months in the NICU. Today they are healthy and happy three year olds. It is amazing to watch those premies grow and grow. Tell Jenn we are thinking about her and praying for little Belle and Abel.
Thinking of your family. The babies are coming, the babies are coming!
Praying for you all!
Praying for all 4 of you!

Sorry to hear about the preeclampsia, but hoping that you and Jenn are comfortable and at peace about early delivery. Prayers are with you and I can't wait to see those little angels! :)
I have been wondering how she was doing. Thanks for the update. I will be praying for you all :)
You all are in my thoughts and prayers! Thanks for the update:)
Everyone will definitely be in my prayers! So glad to hear that so far everything is being monitored and doing well. Yep, I think Britney and I will be pregnant forever... ;P
Praying for all of you as well-
Do not fear a C Section- be sure to ask the doctors what they would do if it was their babies... twins being born at 31 weeks...mine said C Section @ 36 weeks- so I did for Sarah and Anna's sake- recovery is not bad- what is bad is possible long term harm to your babies... I'm doing a repeat C Section this time- even though my doc said a Vaginal Birth would be just fine after delivering Sarah and Anna C Section...
Thanks for the update~ will definitely be keeping ya'll in my prayers. Please keep us posted and be sure to post pictures of the babies when you get a chance!
Will definitely be saying tons of prayers for you and the babies. I know Jennifer has done a great job keeping Abel and Belle safe in there and I hope they can keep her PE under control long enough for the 2nd steroid shot and to get those babies a little more time. But...31 weeks is great....they are well within the safe zone...they will just need to grow a little. I hope she can have the vaginal delivery...but mostly I just pray all goes well and everyone comes out healthy.

The NICU is a tough road, but it is great that they've made it this far. Wow, private rooms in the NICU!? Very nice! Ours just had curtains separating the babies - very similar in size to the area at the NEDC where you wait just before the transfer and for the hour or so afterwards. I hope everything goes well.
