For "Halloween," Abel and Belle dressed up as Peter Pan and Tinkerbell. We don't celebrate the scary and demonic things of Halloween, but like all kids, we like to dress up and get candy! Aaron and I took them to the mall "trick or treating" and they got lots of candy - too bad that mommy wouldn't let them eat anything but the chocolates (I have a great fear of kids choking on hard candies). If you notice in a couple of their pictures, they are wearing glow necklaces that were given to them as their trick or treat prize from one of the mall stores- they thought those were awesome! They are getting at such a fun age now - I am loving it! :)
Sorry this is a little late, but please head over to Jeff & Tracey's blog and congratulate them on the birth of their daughter, Brielle Isabelle! Brielle is Abel & Belle's genetic sister. They were all conceived and frozen in 2006 but adopted at different times and into different families. We are grateful that Abel & Belle will be able to grow up knowing Brielle. Praise God for writing such a beautiful story!

God is NOT a God of Second Chances
and Other Good News from the Gospel
You're part of a grassroots team that will receive monthly updates on this project. Many of you
have already asked how you can be praying for the book. Thank you so much! This brief post each month will keep you
informed on where the book is in the production process and provide you with specific
ways you can be praying for it.
So first, some quick info about the book itself:
- God is NOT a God of Second Chances is a 31 day devotional. Its goal is to present a beautiful,
challenging and sometimes unexpected truth from the Bible for every day of the
month. Whereas some devotionals are
light and fluffy, the goal of this book is to engage the reader with the gospel, have
them wrestle with its implications and inspire worship for Jesus!
- The title devotion comes from a blog post that Aaron wrote for
our church last year. You can check it
- All royalties from the book, outside of reimbursing the
book's production costs, are being given to church planting efforts in the
Charlotte Northlake area. The timing of
the writing of this book matches the start of a church plant in that area that
will be supported by whatever income the book generates. For more info, check out this website.
- The book will be available to order through physical Christian
booksellers and will be available to order at Amazon.com, BarnesandNoble.com
and other online retailers. It will also
come in a digital format.
- As of today, the first draft manuscript
is 54% finished with a goal of being at 100% by the end of October. We're shooting for a
release date of early 2014 for the finished product.
- Graphic design for the cover is currently underway. We hope to get several proposed cover options to
- This Wednesday, Aaron will be shooting a short promotional video
for the book. When this is available, it
will be an easy-to-share marketing tool that you can use to help spread the
word about the project.
Now for the prayer requests:
- Pray for a humble heart and an ambitious drive to write and
market with excellence to the glory of God.
- Pray for faithful stewardship of Aaron's schedule, that he might intentionally
carve out time to write without sacrificing time with family or church.
- Pray for Biblical inspiration and doctrinal integrity for
- Although the book will be primarily sold online, getting it
in stores would provide a big boost for it.
There's one national Christian retailer whom Aaron happens to have a very close
relationship with (ahem). Pray for God's
favor on the project and for wisdom and winsomeness as he engages retailers.
- Pray for the graphic design and promotional video that are
currently in production.
If you have any other questions about the book, please let us know in the comments below. Thank you friends! We appreciate you all!
you do in any area I would say, first understand [that] this is not about ego,
it’s not to bring you glory, it’s to bring the Lord glory and I would encourage
you to seek the favor of the God more than anything... Go for quality, go for
art, go for all these things but make your number one priority the favor of
God." -Alex Kendrick (creator of

As you can see, we have some exciting news! Nope, we're not pregnant or adopting (gotcha). Aaron is writing a book!!!
We'll have many more details up soon, but for right now, Aaron is starting up a prayer team and newsletter for the project. If you'd like to help us spread the word and follow the book's progress, please take a moment to "friend" Aaron on Facebook (https://www.facebook.com/aaron.b.wilson.773) and/or follow him on Twitter (https://twitter.com/AaronBWilson26). You can also leave your email address in the comments if you'd like to follow the newsletter that way.
Thanks everyone. Looking forward to sharing more with you about it soon! For right now, we'll tease you with the title:
Do you know what the most frequently used word is in a Christian’s
vocabulary? It’s not what you’d first guess, a word like faith, hope or
love. In fact, even though it’s a word you’ll likely recite over
74,000 times in your life, there’s a good chance you’re not sure what it
means. Ready for it? The word we’re all saying, and are all confused
Here are our overdue family pictures taken in May! Better late than never :)
Also, we had to take down our adoption book post because Aaron discovered that we couldn't use the pictures on social media without the proper copyrights. We can still use them to bind the book for our family but can't use them elsewhere without permission. Bummer :(
Abel and Belle had a BLAST this year celebrating their birthday. I can only imagine how much fun they will have next year when they turn 3! They had their 2 year old check-up and shots on Tuesday. Below is what is going on with each of them.
Abel: Loves his Lovey, balls, cars, dogs, Veggietales, Mickey Mouse, Cat in the Hat, and playfully exercising his strength over his sister while she cries and he laughs. He is clearly all boy and while his sister joyfully pushes her dolls in a stroller, he rams his wagon against my kitchen table and house walls...over and over again (and I secretly love it!). His vocabulary has picked up a good bit in the number of words he says, but many words are not clear. He calls both mommy and a monkey "ma-he." Yes, mommy and monkey are one in the same ;) I talked to the pediatrician about this and he still isn't worried about it. There is a chance he may have to attend speech therapy in the future, but for right now, this is still within normal for some two year olds. Abel used to love food. I mean love it! However, I noticed that for the past 2-3 months, he has become less interested in eating and more concerned with playing. I thought it must be a phase that would pass and Aaron nor I were too worried. However, his check-up showed that he is only in the 9th percentile for height and the 10th percentile for weight and he has only gained .4 lb in six months. The pediatrician said that he wasn't in the danger zone by any means, but would like him to begin drinking 1-2 bottles of Pediasure each day to help him grow since he isn't eating well. He also has recently been diagnosed with asthma and has to use two inhalers each day. The pediatrician said most toddlers grow out of this by the time they are 4, so Lord willing, he will too. Other than that, he is a happy and playful little boy who loves his family! He is always running to grab my legs to hug and kiss me. When Belle cries, he always brings her a toy to comfort her. When Belle is in time-out, he cannot stand to watch her sad so he brings her a toy too. Poor Abel also had to go into time-out for giving Belle a toy while she was in time-out because I warned him not to and he disobeyed anyway. So sad to be disciplined for loving your sister ;)
Belle: Loves her Lovey, dolls (finally!), dollhouses, tea cups, stuffed animals, blankets, Veggietales, Hello Kitty, Minnie Mouse and Strawberry Shortcake (she calls her "pancake."). It has really been fun to watch her become more of a little girl as of late. She has gone from liking gender neutral baby toys to little girl toys. She loves to tuck in her stuffed animals and dolls and put her hand to her mouth and tell everyone to "shh!" Her vocabulary has exploded and she can pretty much say anything she wants to. Her words are very clear. She hasn't really begun sentences yet, but she does say things like "Help me (which Abel says that too)," and a few other phrases that I can't think of right now. She saw a picture of me wearing my wedding dress and said "Princess Mommy!" Too sweet :) She is in the 30th percentile for both height and weight. She also has a mild case of asthma and we have an inhaler on hand but we don't use it everyday as we do for her brother.
Aaron and I love these two sweet children so much. I say it on almost every blog post, but it is just the truth. Every day, I look at them in awe and can't believe that God has given them to us. We are so blessed and thankful!
Hey Guys! We are still here. We have just been very busy this past month. Abel and Belle turned TWO years old on Tuesday - I cannot believe it! They were in a wedding on May 19, we had professional family photos taken a few weeks ago, and they are having a birthday party on Saturday. All of these pictures and updates will be coming soon so hang tight! :)
Abel, Belle and I went to Atlanta this past weekend for my sister, Grace, and her fiance's couples' shower. Aaron wasn't able to go because he was in Greensboro, NC working a LifeWay conference. The shower theme was a fiesta as the pictures below show...and the twins had a GREAT time! They ate Moe's Southwest grill food, cake, and played on the playground.
We were married on December 17, 2005 and are trying to honor the Savior with our lives. God laid embryo adoption on our hearts after first reading about it in 2006. In 2009, we began pursuing embryo adoption. We have adopted a total of 10 babies: 8 are now in Heaven with the Lord and 2, our boy/girl twins, Abel and Belle were born at 31 weeks on June 4, 2011!
Aaron is currently writing his first book titled, "God is NOT a God of Second Chances...and Other Good News from the Gospel" which will be available in 2014.
