One Week Away From Knoxville!

Lord willing, one week from today, we should be at our hotel in Knoxville getting ready for our mock transfer the following morning! WooHoo! I'm not really looking forward to drinking 48-62 oz of water prior to the appointment (and can't relieve myself until afterwards) nor am I looking forward to the sonohysterogram (SHG), which may cause some slight discomfort...But, I am definitely looking forward to being one step closer to our babies!

I started my Estrace on Tuesday and had an episode of nausea and vomiting on Friday morning while getting dressed - I think it was due to the fact that I didn't eat dinner the night prior nor breakfast that morning when I took the pill. I have been sure to take it with food this weekend and have had no side effects. However, I hope that more nausea and vomiting are in my near future...Because, if our babies implant and begin growing, I will welcome such unpleasant things. :)

By the way, do any of my South Carolina friends still follow our blog? I rarely see comments from you guys, mostly comments from other adopting mommies, so just wondering if you're still following us on this journey? :)

Wow! I can't believe that that day is almost here! I can't wait to hear how the drinking 62 oz of water goes. I am most nervous about that too. Praying for a safe trip and fast 7 days so that you can get there and get this "show" on the road! Whoo hoo!

Jennifer, it will all go well! And it will be so fast, it will be over before you know it! Holding your bladder is the hardest part-but you'll need to learn to be a pro at that for when you're pregnant AND for when you're a Mommy!

YAY!!!! You are so close! I am so excited for yall!

and can I just say I would never ever ever be able to drink that amount of water, I don't think my body would be physically able to hold that amount in!

Getting close!!!

Speaking of holding your bladder, at my transfer last week I misjudged just how much liquid I had drank and by the time I was propped up in bed with my feet in the air for ONE HOUR I thought for sure that my bladder was going to burst (or that there would be a large mess!). I think I only made it about 15 minutes into the one hour and decided that I couldn't take it any more and the nurse brought me a bed pan!! I have NEVER used one before and it was quite a challenge to say the least!

Picture laying in bed with the foot end much much higher than the head end and trying to keep the pan under your bum while "relaxing" enough to actually pee and hope that most of it makes it in instead of running up your back!!! Oh my word, what an experience! And then the nurse hands me some TP and says to just leave it there until she can help me move it--well the pan was a bit full to actually manage a wipe! Oh yeah, and did I mention thtat I was quite loopy from the Diazapam they gave me? LOL! Sorry it that was TMI :)

Luckily the mock transfer doesn't require the one hour wait afterwards!

Hi! I'm just curious, are you going to The Fertility Center of Knoxville? I go to the one in Chattanooga and my doc also works at the one in Knox. I'm so excited about your transfer!
